  1. Get 2 cups Semolina or Suji
  2. Get 1 tsp Salt or to taste
  3. Get 2-3 Garlic cloves finely chopped
  4. Make ready 1 tbsp Bengal Gram or Chana Daal
  5. Get 1 Onion finely chopped
  6. Take 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  7. Prepare 2 Sprigs Curry Leaves
  8. Prepare 3-4 Green Chillies finely chopped
  9. Make ready 2 tbsp Oil
  10. Get 1/4 cup Peanuts
  11. Get 1 small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped

Steps to make Plain Breakfast Upma:
  1. Heat oil and add in the Mustard Seeds. After they splutter well, add in the Bengal Gram, Curry Leaves, finely chopped Garlic and Onion. Saute for about 2 minutes on a medium high heat.
  2. Next add in the Peanuts and Green Chillies. Let the Peanuts cook till the raw aroma goes away. In about 10 minutes time, add Semolina and roast for 2-3 minutes by stirring it in between. Add hot water about 2 cups to it and mix well.
  3. Cover and simmer for the next 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped Coriander Leaves and serve it hot with any Chutney, Pickle or just as is.
