Soft/coloured chinchin is one of the most popular of current trending foods on earth. It is simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. It is enjoyed by millions daily. Soft/coloured chinchin is something which I’ve loved my entire life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

It is required to fry your chin chin and wait till it becomes pretty golden brown color. They will be crunchy on the outside and super soft inside. Chin chin is also known as Merveilles means wonder in french. I do not blame the french for thinking these little treats are wondrous delights.

To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have soft/coloured chinchin using 10 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Soft/coloured chinchin:
  1. Take 4 cups all purpose flour
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup sugar
  3. Get salt Pinch
  4. Prepare 2 tbsp butter
  5. Prepare 2 eggs
  6. Make ready 1/2 tsp baking powder
  7. Take 1/3 cup water
  8. Get 1/3 tsp colour(yellow)
  9. Take 1/2 tsp vanilla flavour
  10. Take Oil for frying

Scoop the fried pieces onto a flat tray to dry and cool down quickly. When the chin chin had cooled down completely, store in a dry, airtight container.. Unlike the plain colored chinchin, the golden brown color indicator for doneness can't be used. By the time this colored babies turn golden brown, it would have burnt.

Steps to make Soft/coloured chinchin:
  1. Sieve flour in a container, add sugar,baking powder,egg,butter,salt,flavour and colour. Make a hole in the middle of the flour mixture and add water.
  2. Knead to make a soft dough, cover and allow to stay for 10mins.
  3. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
  4. Fry in oil on a low heat
  5. Serve with any drink

Chin-Chins are a popular snack in Nigeria. There is the very small one, the medium and the biggest (Igbos call this Igbojionu).
