The ingredients needed to make Moong dal idli:
  1. Make ready For idli batter
  2. Get 1 cup yellow moong daal
  3. Prepare 1 tbsp rice
  4. Make ready 3_4 green chilli
  5. Take 4-5 garlic cloves
  6. Prepare 1 tbsp oil
  7. Prepare as required Salt
  8. Prepare as required Red chilli powder optional
  9. Make ready as required Turmeric powder

However I like moong dal, for me it's as good as any other dal. All you need is a good tadka (tempering) and your delicious. Moong dal (pasi parupu) is very nutritious, needs less soaking and is easy to digest. Moong dal dosa can be prepared in a jiffy.

Instructions to make Moong dal idli:
  1. Soak moong daal for 3-4 hrs
  2. Grind moong dal, green chilli and garlic together make a batter of poring consistency not too thin not thick
  3. Now add salt oil and turmeric powder to the batter mix it very well until it becomes fluffy
  4. Till then heat and grese the idli cooker at last add 1n half tbsp of fruit salt to the batter mix it well
  5. Pour it into idli cooker steam for 15 min.
  6. Then make a tadka add oil to the pan green chilli, seasame seeds, rai, curry leaves let's crackl them add idli
  7. Serve with any kind of chutney or tomato sauce
