The ingredients needed to make Tori with moong dal badi:
  1. Take 1 kg luffa(tori)(ridge gourd)
  2. Get 1 cup moong dalbadi(you may take gram badi as well.)
  3. Take 2 tbsp onion paste
  4. Make ready 1 tbsp ginger -garlic paste
  5. Take 1 tsp turmeric powder
  6. Prepare 1 tsp red chilli powder
  7. Make ready 2 tsp coriander powder
  8. Prepare 1 tsp black pepper powder
  9. Take 1 tsp mustard powder
  10. Take to taste Salt
  11. Prepare 4 tbsp mustard oil
  12. Take 1/8 tsp methi(Fenugreek) seeds

Instructions to make Tori with moong dal badi:
  1. Peel and cup cut luffa into 4"×1" long pieces.Keep aside.
  2. Heat 1tbsp oil in a pan.When hot add bafis and saute for 1 minute.Take out and keep aside.
  3. Heat remaining oil in the same pan.When heat well add methi seeds.Let the seeds blacken.
  4. Lower the flame add onion and ginger -garlic paste.Stir.Add 1 tbsp water and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
  5. Add all powdered spices to the pan,stir.Add 1 cup water and add salt also.Cook on low flame for 5-6minite till the spices are cooked well.
  6. Add moong dal badis and luffa.Stir well.
  7. Cover and cook on low flame for 10 -15 minutes.
  8. No need of adding water as luffa has a lot of water and veggi cooked in it's own water.
  9. Cook till luffa is soft.Serve with boiled rice.
