- Get 200 gm moong daal
- Take 3 green chilli
- Get 1 inch ginger
- Take 1 tsp coriander seeds
- Prepare 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

- Get As needed oil for fry
Since the dal needs to get cooked and becomes crispy, each batch of deep frying takes more time than conventional pakoda. Tips for making Moong Dal Pakoda Recipe. While grinding soaked dal, do not add water. Grind it to a coarse paste.
Steps to make Moong dal vada:
- Rinse Moong dal 4-5 times & soak in water for 4-5 hrs. Then rinse again & remove the water.
- In a grinder mixer jar add Moong dal, green chillies, salt, ginger, asafoetida, whole coriander seeds & grind it well.
- Add chopped coriander leaves, aniseeds to the batter & mix it well. Add little water if required
- Heat oil in a pan. Pour small portions of batter in medium hot oil to make vadas.
- Once it is fried from one side flip another side to fry it. After some time when it is done remove it from oil & fry another batch of vadas.
While grinding soaked dal, do not add water. Grind it to a coarse paste. Moong dal vada is crispy outside and soft inside. The coarse texture that melts in the mouth is an awesome feeling and USP of this dish. This is best eaten at tea-time with mint chutney.
