Chicken soaked in this marinade and grilled is the ideal summer chicken — slightly tangy, lightly peppered. Instructions to make Grilled Chicken Marinade:
  1. Pour oil into a small bowl.
  2. Mix together seasonings, pepper, paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper and add to thr oil. Add garlic, onions, and parsley (optional).
  3. Mix together well with a fork. Slowly add ginger ale as it will cause the mixture to foam and bubble slightly.
  4. Pour marinade over the chicken in the zip top bag or in a tray and cover with foil.
  5. Remove as much air as possible from the bag and seal.
  6. Turn the bag from side to side to make sure all chicken has been coated with the marinade.
  7. Place the bag flat on a small, rimmed kitchen sheet pan and into the refrigerator.
  8. Allow to sit up to 1 hour or overnight for best results, turning the bag over every few hours to keep the chicken coated.
  9. Once your chicken parts are marinated, place them on the grill.
  10. Cook them for 7-8 minutes on each side, not lifting during the cooking process (you don’t want to lose your pretty grill marks)
