- In a small cooking pan, add jaggery and water and heat it till the jaggery melts. Strain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add rice flour.
- Add freshly grated coconut.
- Add cardamom powder.
- Take a banana. Cut it into small pieces. Mash it with a masher. Add this mashed banana to the flour-coconut mixture.
- Mix well to make a dough. Add ghee and mix well.
- Take a clean bay leaf. Shape it into a cone. Secure it with a toothpick. Fill the leaf cone with the prepared dough. Repeat the process for the rest of the dough.
- Take a steamer, add water and one bay leaf. Transfer the filled cones to the steamer plate and steam cook it on high flame for 15 minutes.
- When done, remove from heat.
- Serve warm with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
- Part of the dough I filled in silicon moulds. Pre-heated air fryer for 4 minutes and baked it 180° for 5 minutes. The baked dumplings tasted even more better than the steamed dumplings.
