Steps to make Onion Uttapam:
- Take a bowl add rice,Toor dal,chana dal,wash and rinse it thoroughly and strain the water and add fresh water to the rice mix as needed, don't add to much water and keep aside for whole night.
- Next day in the morning around 6 a.m put the rice mix in the grinder jar adding little water grind it to a paste and put the batter in the bowl add little black salt and give a mix but don't stir, it may be make the uttapam hard and keep rest thebatter for two hours.In other side chopped the above-mentioned vegetables and keep aside.
- Now heat the pan with little oil,sprinkle it water and wipe with moist cloth and the pan is ready for making uttapam.
- Put the ladle ful of batter in the greased pan adding little oil spread it like a uttapam shaped sprinkle it with the chopped onions fully covering the top,spread little salt and black pepper powder. Next spread other ingredients also,add one or two teaspoons of oil,cook in medium high heat, after the minute of two flip the uttapam and cook in low heat for two minutes more and cook onions set caramelized.
