Instructions to make Blooming Onion:
  1. Ingredients
  2. Peel skin off onion. Cut top and bottom of onion.
  3. Put flat side down - Slice the onion, leave some space in middle
  4. Flip the onion over and coax apart it's layers or petals
  5. For making the batter, in a bowl add 4 tbsp all-purpose flour or maida, salt, and water as required mix well. Set aside.
  6. Then in another bowl add 4 tbsp cornflour, 2 tbsp all-purpose flour or maida, - and all spices (Garam Masala, Red chili powder, - Oregano, Black Pepper Powder, Salt) mix everything. Set aside.
  7. Coat the blooming onion to dry mixture first.
  8. Now dip the onion into the wet mixture and then coat it well.
  9. Dip it into the dry flour mixture again. Place in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes while you preheat the oil.
  10. Pour enough oil to cover the onion into a deep fryer or deep pot. Preheat the oil.
  11. Allow to fry one side and then flip over to fry other side until beautiful golden brown.
  12. Blooming onion is ready to serve
