The ingredients needed to make Patato Chaman With Tomato Gravy:
- Take 2 Potato - big(chopped)
- Prepare 1 Onion -chopped)
- Take 5 Tomato - chopped)
- Take ½ tbsp Mustard seed -(crushed)
- Make ready 1 Green chillies - small(chopped)
- Take 1 tbs Roasted cumin powder -
- Make ready 1 tbs Fennel seed powder -
- Get 1/4 tbs Black pepper powder -
- Prepare 1 pinch Dalchini powder -
- Take 1 pinch Big cardamom powder -
- Prepare 1 tbs Kashmiri red chilli powder -
- Prepare to taste Salt - according
- Take as required Water - depends
- Make ready 1/8 tbs Garam masala -
- Get 3–4 Fenugreek leaves - crushed)
- Take 1/2 tbs Jaggery -
- Make ready 2 tbsp Oil -
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Coconut powder -
Adjust the water in gravy to your liking; gravy will thicken as it will cool. Add garam masala and cilantro, and green chilies this is optional. I serve it with garlic mashed potatoes. Add the tomato paste and bay leaf.
Instructions to make Patato Chaman With Tomato Gravy:
- Add 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add onion and saute it for 2 mins and add tomatoes and cover the pan for two minutes or till tomatoes are soft. Off the flame and let it cool.
- Dip the potatoes in hot turmeric water for five to ten minutes and let them dry in a cloth or paper napkeen.
- Now deep fry the potato slices till golden brown and keep aside.
- Now blend the paste nicely and stain it to get smooth puree.
- Add one tbsp Oil in another pan and add green chilli and crushed mustard powder and add onion & tomato puree and all other spices except coconut powder.
- Boil it for 5 mins at low flame and add fried potato slices/widgets and boil for another 4 minutes to make the gravy consistency thick(upto desired thickness).
- Serve in a plate/bowl & garnish with coconut powder.
