- Take 4 cups warm water or as required

It just melts in your mouth. You can also add ghee, but I'm not a fan of eating ghee raw. Khichdi also goes perfectly with yogurt and achaar (pickle). It lends a creamy flavor with a salty kick.
Instructions to make Moong dal khichdi:
- Soak rice & dal in water for minimum 30 mints, then rinse it well,drain the water & keep aside.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add jeera seeds, bay leaf, dry red chilli.When jeera splutters,add green chilli, grated ginger,chopped tomatoes.
- Now add the potato,coconut pieces & fry for a mints.Then add the drained rice, dal & mix well.Add salt,turmeric powder.
- Pour 4 cups water or as required.Pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
- Once the pressure subsides by itself drizzle little ghee on top.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves & coconut pieces.Serve hot with papad, pineapple chutney or any other of your choice.
