  1. Take 100 gms rolled oats
  2. Prepare 50 gms Moong dal
  3. Take 1 tsp Ginger paste
  4. Get 60 gms onion
  5. Take 50 gms peas
  6. Make ready 50 gms cauliflower
  7. Make ready 75 gms potato
  8. Take 50 gms carrot
  9. Take 30 gms French bean
  10. Make ready 2 green chillies
  11. Prepare 2 whole dry red Chillies
  12. Prepare 1/4 tsp whole Cummin seeds
  13. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  14. Take 1/2 tsp Cummin powder
  15. Take 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  16. Get Salt as per taste
  17. Make ready 3 tbsps veg oil
  18. Take 1/2 tbsp butter
  19. Get Salt as per taste
  20. Take Approx. 4.5-5 cups Hot water
  21. Get Garnishing
  22. Get Little coriander leaves chopped
  23. Take Little butter

Oats Dal Khichdi is a healthy and delicious one pot meal which can be prepared easily. This khichdi is made with oats, yellow moong dal and mixed veggies. For the first time, I made this oats khichdi and it turned out very well. I think there is no need for any side dish for this khichdi.

Steps to make Oats Moong Dal khichdi:
  1. First wash the Dal and soak it for atleast half an hour.
  2. In the meantime….Wash, peel and chop the vegetables.
  3. Heat oil in a pot and add whole dry chilli and then Cummin seeds. Once it starts crackling add the potato pieces saute it for few minutes.
  4. Then add ginger paste,saute it and add the chopped onion,saute it again for one or two minutes. Then add the carrot and saute for few minutes.
  5. Then add rest of the vegetables,saute it. Add the soaked Dal and saute it.
  6. Add salt,If required add little warm water and cook it nicely.
  7. After few minutes, add Turmeric, Cummin and coriander powder and give it a good mix. Add about 2 cups warm water and cover and cook for about 10 minutes.
  8. After the vegetables have softened and cooked, add the rolled oats and mix well, then add about 2 cups water, mix well. Add the green chillies and coriander too, cover and cook for 5-10 minutes.
  9. In between the cooking process add half table spoon butter too and continue cooking. Check salt. Stir it once or twice in-between. Once the oats gets cooked and your khichdi has thickened up, your Oats Moong Dal khichdi is ready. Serve it with a dollop of butter / ghee and coriander leaves with pickles etc.

For the first time, I made this oats khichdi and it turned out very well. I think there is no need for any side dish for this khichdi.
