This recipe consists of spicy whole wheat uncooked roti pieces simmered into dal and cooked to perfection. Dal dhokli has a mild sweet and spicy flavor. Steps to make Dal Dhokli:
- First Pressure cook the dal by adding turmeric powder, salt and as required add water to it and pressure cook it. Turn on the gas flame in full mode wait for 1 Whistle and then turn off the gas flame.
- Now in the mean time prepare Dough by adding salt, water and wheat š¾ flour. The Dough must be soft. Rest the Dough for 5 mins.
- Now make Dhokli take a big portion of the dough roll it on the kitchen platform by adding dry wheat flour roll it like a Roti and with the help of a cookie šŖ cutter just make shapes (you any choose any shapes as you desire) and just fold it from the heart shape and just press it.
- Now open the pressure cooker and just mix the dal add more 2 Cups water to it and just add red chilli powder, if required more salt and all Prepared Dhokli and just cook it for 10 mins in Medium flame.
- Tempering take a pan add ghee, onion, garlic, red whole Chillies, cumin seeds and just saute it for 2 mins, then Asafoetida and now add cooked dal and Dhokli to it and add cook for 5 more mins in Medium flame, then add sugar and lemon juice. Garnish it with coriander leaves and Mint leaves.
